Introduction and Course Description

This program is designed for students who are in the seventh grade in an inner city middle school.  It will teach students about various types of abuse (physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual) and the importance of respecting themselves as well as others.  This program is an interactive way for students to learn about the cycle of violence that occurs in abusive relationships.  It teaches the students how to recognize an abusive relationship, how to evade these relationships, and where they can go for help if they find themselves in an abusive relationship.

The purpose of this program is to teach young people about the dangers of domestic violence and to help them learn how to protect themselves and others from this serious problem.
