Introduction and Course Description

This program was developed for students preparing for a career in Early Childhood Education and Services.  Throughout the semester, students learn day care management skills, preschool development principles, and teaching skills.  Students participate in the on site daycare center for the school district’s employees where they observe development, assist the teachers, and lead activities.  Students job shadow early childhood professionals, observe other programs, and develop a career portfolio.  Students participate in a dual enrollment program with Community College of Indiana (IVY Tech State College).
